Lamoon Lamai House
Sustainability
This accommodation provider has taken action to address one or more issues (whether environmental, social or cultural) which will contribute positively to the long term viability of the destination and hence their site displays a Caring for the destination rating.
Main area of focus in Caring for the Destination:
Efforts to minimise use of chemicals, water and energy.
Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative:
Lamoon Lamai keeps all guest rooms as non smoking. By having non smoking rooms, this preserves the life of the rooms meaning curtains and bedding don't need to be replaced as often and walls don't have to be repainted as regularly. By reducing these cleaning materials and costs, hotels with a no smoking room policy reduce the amount of harsh cleaning chemicals, water, detergent, energy, gas and paint that is used on an annual basis as well preserving the life of the room and it's furnishings therefore reducing excess consumption of all elements.
In addition to this, Lamoon Lamai House has installed key tags in all guest rooms to help minimise excessive and unnecessary use of electricity, especially high polluting and high energy consuming appliances such as air conditioning when guests are not in their rooms. By staying at Lamoon Lamai House and using the key tags properly, you and the property are contributing to reduce the world's energy consumption and HCFC emissions from air conditioning units.
